Lee Eldon Patterson of Sanger, passed away on September 13, 2015 in Denton, Texas at the age of 78. The son of Alfred Thurman and Vera Mae (Daugherty) Patterson, Lee was born on March 15, 1937 in Brownfield, Texas. On February 23, 1956, he married Iva Jean Watts in Big Springs, Texas and they made their home in Sanger. Lee worked as plant manager for Trinity Industries in Denton for 30 years. Deciding that retirement was not for him, Lee went to work in the maintenance department at Sanger ISD where he later retired a second time. Lee and Iva loved and supported their children. Rarely did they miss an event that involved their children and grandchildren.
He is survived by a daughter Valerie (Patterson) Robison and husband, Joey of Lompoc, CA, three sons, Rodney Patterson and wife, Robin of Denton, Rowdy Patterson and wife, Traci of Pilot Point, and Raymond Patterson of Sacramento, CA, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva, his parents, and brother, Wayne Ralph Patterson.
A visitation will be held from 6 pm – 8 pm on Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Bolivar Baptist Church which will also be the location of the funeral services on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10 am. Presiding over the services will be Pastor Joey Robison. Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Patterson will be his grandsons, Casey Patterson, Dusty Patterson, Chase Patterson, Trey Robison, Ethan Golden, Koby Short, and Josh Chacon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brad Watts and Marty Watts.
