SUBLETT, John Carlyle, Sr., age 67, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. He was born on April 25, 1940 in Winchester, the son of Alvis Elizabeth Gilliam Sublett and the late Rufus Beauregard Sublett. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served 19 years with the 251st Det Battalion of the Tullahoma National Guard. He retired in 2001 from his position in shipping at BF Goodrich in Tullahoma. John was a member of the Homeland Baptist Church and was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and frequently attended the local ball games. John will be sorely missed by all.

In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his nephew, David Mark Jarvie. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Bertha D. Nash Sublett; a son, John Carlyle Sublett, Jr.; daughter, Sonseearay Shahan; sister, Hessie Elizabeth Jarvie; three brothers, Thomas Allen (Jan) Sublett, Patrick Mark (Megan) Sublett and Michael Frank (Sandra) Sublett; two granddaughters, Kayla Hall Shahan and Kristin Ray Shahan; eight loving nieces and nephews; and two greatnieces.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel in Winchester with Bro. Jimmie Brazier officiating. Interment will be held in the Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester with full military honors.
