American Baseball Player. Wiles was a pitcher for the Chicago White Sox during the 1977 season. He attended Louisiana State University from 1970 to 1973 and played baseball where he was the ace of the pitching staff. Wiles was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1973 Major League Draft and he made his big league debut in 1977 with the White Sox, pitching in five games. He was was voted in 2008 to LSU's "Foundation Era" team, honoring former Tiger greats that played in the period from the opening of the original Alex Box Stadium in 1938 through 1983, the season prior to Skip Bertman's appointment as head coach.
