Funeral service for Mrs. Geraldine Edith Powell, 82, of Wadley, will be Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Wadley First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Powell will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Fred Webster will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wadley City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Powell passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Jackson Hospital. She was born on April 6, 1933 in Niagara Falls, New York to Paul Phillips and Marguerite Phillips Craig.
She was a member of Wadley First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Powell loved living in Wadley. She enjoyed playing Canasta, watching Law and Order and cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Auburn Tigers. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, Gracie and Libby Claire, who held a very special place in her heart.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Julie Powell, of Eclectic, Lance and Carol Pierce, of Texarkana, TX, Chuck and Joanne Powell, of Berlin, CT; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sandy Phillips, of Washington, PA; grandchildren, Gracie Powell, Libby Claire Powell, Annie Sellers, Sabrina Parker, Amanda Pierce, Christopher Powell, Matthew Powell, Kyle Powell and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Clinton Powell; parents; brothers, Paul Phillips and Donald "Buzz" Phillips.
