Mr. Frank Herndon Powell, age 71, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, September 10, 2015.
Mr. Powell is preceded in death by his father, Winfred Powell.
Frank had a passion for sports. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball, football and basketball.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Powell; mother, Ann Powell; son and daughter-in-law, Kip and Cathy Powell; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Tim Britton; children by marriage Kay and Byron Brackett, and Brian Keith; grandchildren Tyler Britton, Clay Britton, Elizabeth Powell, Sydney Powell, Shana and Beau Martin, Kaity Brackett, and Ella Keith; very special friends Ray Moss, Jim Jolly, David Jolly, Harold Boring, and Steve Barbree.
The family wishes to especially thank Dr. Monica Verma and the nurses and doctors at Hamilton Medical Center and Heartlite Hospice for the wonderful care given.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. in Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Rev Chris Mullis officiating.
