Long time teacher and coach at Pratt County Community College in Pratt, Ks. Also long time MC for the Miss Kansas Pageant and other events in Pratt. "For Jack Ewing, there was more, way more. He gave of himself without limits.
At how many weddings, funerals, anniversaries, school events, dinners, etc. did he sing or provide music? No one knows the answer, but is in the several thousand.
From Miss Kansas Pageants and local pageants to awards banquets and charity auctions, Jack was Pratt’s Master of Ceremony or MC. He relished the challenge and thrill to connect with an audience and bring an event to life. A small list includes the 75ers Dinner, Prairie Land Independent Living’s Community Day, South Wind Hospice Auction, Pratt Relay for Life (always Petula Clark’s Downtown), somebody special’s birthday, Kansas State Tennis tournaments, American Red Cross fundraisers, USO and other talent shows, Pratt Old Fashioned Christmas, Fourth of July celebrations, and Veteran’s Day ceremonies.
A man of deep Christian faith, his worship was as varied as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, traditional church services, Wildwood Chapel in Salt Plains Lake, and, most meaningfully and profoundly, singing gospel songs with his family. Jack had a passionate mission to touch the lives of his and His community." (from his memorial)

Jack was cremated and his ashes were scattered at his beloved Great Salt Plains Lake in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma.
