Dottie was born December 7, 1925, in La Belle, Missouri .
Married to Richard Leo (“Pete”) Randall in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Dottie and Leo had six children.
Dottie was the owner of The Fabric Center at 2301 N. 12th Street in Quincy for 40 years. The store opened in 1965 selling fabric for home decorating. Few businesses were owned by women at that time. Customers were drawn to the inventory which included a variety of fabrics obtained from Dottie’s semi-annual buying trips to New York City and Dallas. She later expanded into selling upholstery; and in 1994, at the age of 70, Dottie added a children’s clothing line, which included a wide selection of pageant outfits and wedding attire.
Dottie was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters Barbara E. (Ronald) Arp of Lewisville, Texas, and Retta-Rae Randall, of Chugiak, Alaska, and sons Richard W. (Joanne) Randall of Troutman, N.C. and Clifford A. (Bonnie) Randall of Centennial, Colo., as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husband and sons, Jeffrey L. Randall and Randy L. Randall.
Dottie will always be remembered for her outgoing personality, creativity and wit.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Ivan Greuter officiating.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Central Baptist Church.
