David Brian McVay, 54, of rural Marion, IN, passed away at 6:11 p.m. Sunday evening, Sept. 12, 2015, at his residence with his family at his side. He married Candy June Hix on June 1, 1980 and they just recently celebrated 35 years of a wonderful marriage. He was born June 27, 1961 in Fort Wayne to David and Linda McVay of Marion, IN. David graduated from Eastbrook High School--Class of 1979. He and his wife attended Farrville Community Church, Farrville, IN. For 10 years David worked at Weaver Popcorn in Van Buren, IN. He retired from Chrysler in Kokomo as an electrician with 25 years of service. He also enjoyed farming as a side occupation. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School class and Jr. Church in his younger years. David was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He also loved to travel, sing, and spend time with his family.
He will be missed by his loving wife, Candy June McVay of Marion, IN; mother, Linda (Claude) Rust of Marion, IN; daughters, Bryana Jo (Luke) Turner of rural Marion, Jenni Lee (Matt) Brown of rural Van Buren, Tabitha Rae (Nate) DeLong of Upland, IN; seven grandchildren; brother, Bill (Amy) McVay of Minnesota; sisters, Mindy (Terry) Himelick of Upland, IN, Monica Miller of Marion, IN, Margie Parker of Columbia City, IN and Martha (Kevin) Kennedy of Columbus, IN; and mother-in-law, Jondajane Hix of rural Marion, IN.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Lee McVay; and father-in-law, Gene Hix.
As with David's wishes, no services will be held. Interment will be in the Van Buren Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home in Van Buren, IN.
