In the pension applications she filed, many of the Brannon family signed statements swearing to the birth of her and Alva's children. The year of their marriage and birth dates of their children do not agree with the pension records. It is my belief that Diana could not read or write, and sometimes got confused about the years. It took her many years to receive any money from his pension and many of her children were almost grown by this time.
