Marie was born on December 29, 1915, in Outlook, MT, to Herman and Karen (Johnson) Wollan. She graduated Watertown High School in 1934.
On September 16, 1938, Marie married Fred H. Jacobs in Redfield, SD. The couple lived in Watertown, where she held various jobs. Marie worked 21 years at what is now Wells Fargo in Watertown. She retired from there in 1979. After retirement, Marie continued to make her home in Watertown.
She was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, belonging to Ladies’ Aid and Mission Circle. Marie was also an honorable member of the South Dakota Bowlers Association. She enjoyed reading, fishing, crocheting, golfing, and bowling. She was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan.
Marie is survived by one half-brother, Robert Wollan of Sioux Falls, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; one son, Gary Ray Jacobs; her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
