Robin V. Roberts

Robin Vowell Roberts, age 85 of Sharon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home.

Robin graduated as valedictorian from Sharon High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University. He served his country in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Robin owned and operated W. V. Roberts & Son for many years and retired from the State of Tennessee Human Services Department in 1995. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield where he had served as an elder. He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed duck hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Thelma Roberts. Robin is survived by his son Steven Roberts of Sharon and daughters and sons in law Cynthia and Ross Dempster of Knoxville, Beth and Scott Derrick of Nashville and Candy and Marty Maitland of Nashville. His grandchildren are Martha Anderson, Andrew Dempster, Christopher Derrick, Heather Derrick, Trey Maitland and Connor Maitland. He has three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Ebele and Andruw White.

The family will meet with friends at 12:30 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Sharon on September 27, 2015. The memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
