Mrs. T. H. Diffendaffer of West Fifth street, received a death message last night apprising her of the death of her father, A. J. Crawford, at Dresden, and a few minutes after the first message, received a second message telling her of the death of her sister, Mrs. Viola Fields, which occurred at Beaumont, Texas last Saturday.
Mr. Crawford was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, and was 86 years old, one of the best known farmers and stockmen in Pettis county. Besides Mrs. Diffendaffer, he leaves the following children: Mrs. George Dump, Mora, Mo., Taylor Crawford, South Dakota, D. W. Crawford, Dallas, Texas, and James O. Crawford, Dresden.
Interment will probably take place at Lamonte tomorrow. Mrs. Fields was a former Sedalian and died at Beaumont last Saturday, aged 55 years. She leaves a husband and 4 children. - Sedalia Democrat - Tues. March 9, 1909 pg.1
