Nathan enlisted, 4 May 1861, in the 7th Reg Virginia, Comp B, Culp C.H., Col O.J. Taylor. Nothing found until 6 Aug 1862 when he was admitted to Chimborazo Hospital, Richmond, with pneumonia. He died six days later. His FOLD3 entry had his last name as "Bowlen". Nothing found on his interment; he may have been returned to Sperryville.
