Mass services for Richard Franklin Ballard will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Oklahoma City, OK with Rosary at 12:30 p.m. before the service and burial at the Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK with Father Timothy Ruckeo officiating. He passed from this life September 13, 2015, in Norman, OK, at the age of 98.
Richard Franklin Ballard was born February 6, 1917, in Chism, OK, to Dee and Ora Frances (Arthur) Ballard Wadlow. He married Pauline Patricia Kubiak on July 22, 1939, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Richard lived in Oklahoma City, OK and California for several years before moving to Hugo, OK in 1979 and later moving back to Norman, OK. He owned and operated Nip's Auto Trim. Richard served his country in the United States Merchant Marines from 1941 to 1945 as a Navy Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class. Richard loved to watch baseball, kept up with the news and politics, and spent a lot of time with his wife, Pauline, camping and fishing.
Richard was preceded in death by wife, Pauline Ballard; his parents; sister, Juanita Wadlow; brothers, Herman Edward Ballard and Leota Savoi Ballard.
