Samuel Tyler, 82, husband of Gale L. Tyler, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2015.

Mr. Tyler was born May 18, 1933 in Hemingway, SC the son of the late Samuel Volentyne and Edith Olivia Moore Tyler. He was a member of Hemingway First Baptist Church, Men’s Adult Sunday School Class and Brotherhood. He was a farmer, sheet metal worker, and entrepreneur. He received his education in the Pleasant Hill Schools. His hobbies were working in his yards, vegetable garden and supporting the USC Gamecocks.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Gale Lawrimore Tyler; daughter, Patti (Peter) Fennelly of Folly Beach, SC; a son Sam (Cindy) Tyler of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Tyler and Audrey Fennelly; three sisters, Mary Dee Cribb, Jackie Harrelson and Runette (Colan) McCutcheon; and fourteen nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tyler was predeceased by two brothers, Allen Luford Tyler and Billy Stacey Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Hemingway First Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will follow in the Lawrimore Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Septermber 15, 2015 at the residence, 3237 Muddy Creek Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.
