Margery Edna Carr, 69, found a peaceful place to rest on August 14, 1990 at home in Salt Lake City, Utah after a short illness.

Born September 12, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Carl and Edna Lindquist. She married Calvin B. Carr and remained a dedicated wife and mother for 49 years. She was a devoted and active civic leader. Having held positions as President of the Ladies Literary Club, Worthy Matron of Mizpah Chapter Eastern Star, Grand Worthy Parliamentarian for the State of Utah, President of the Salt Lake District Utah Federation of Women's Clubs, and was active in the Woman's Legislative Council lobbying for good legislation on various projects. She was a member of the citizens advisory board for the Salt Lake County Detention Center and The Granite Community Mental Health Center. She was an accomplished and dedicated citizen.

She is humbly survived by her devoted husband, Calvin B. Carr, her daughters, Victoria C. Freed, Sacramento, California; and Catherine E. Fasselin, San Francisco, California; and her granddaughters, Amy Brinton Freed and Kelly Ann Horner, her aunt, Mary G. Frame. She has many nieces, nephews and in-laws whom she held very dear.

A special thanks to the Community Nurses and Hospice of Salt Lake City whom provided excellent support during her short illness.

Out of respect for Margery's wishes, there will be an opportunity for friends and family to gather at a graveside service on Saturday, Aug. 18, 1990 at 2 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, and a viewing on Friday evening August 17, 1990 between the hours of 7-8 p.m. at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East First South. There will be a celebration of life after services at her home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Intermountain Unit of Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral Directors, Evans and Early Mortuary.
