Bruce LeRoy Dawson, affectionately known to his family as "Pappy" was born on November 1, 1933 and passed away September 6, 2015.

He was a man of integrity who served in the navy during the Korean War. He later went to work for the Los Angeles Police Dept., the Bakersfield Police Department, and finally retired as a sergeant on the California Highway Patrol.

Born in Delano to Charles and Opal Dawson, the youngest of five children, his older brothers Charles, Wayne and Kenneth have passed away as well as his eldest son, Thomas, but he is survived by his sister Barbara Monroe, his daughter, Cynthea Kent, his son, Kyle Dawson and grandchildren Sara, David, Colin, Caitlin, Cooper, and Clayton. His greatgrandchildren are Taylor, Haley and Rylee and he has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will mourn his loss as well.

You will be missed by one and all Pappy and will live in our hearts always.
