He was the husband and best friend of Christine L. McCormack Wallace and loving father to Matthew, Margaret and Katherine.


He was born in Meriden, July 10, 1951, the son of the late Floyd Wallace, Jr. and Charlotte Pope Wallace. A lifelong resident of Wallingford, Floyd graduated from The Choate School, Bucknell University and University of Hartford where he earned an executive MBA.


Floyd loved sports of any kind but he was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He loved playing tennis, paddle and golf. He also coached his son Matt in Little League and then his daughter Kate in softball. A lifelong outdoorsman, Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking, including four months on the Appalachian Trail. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.


Floyd was an executive at Cooper Instrument Corporation, Middlefield, for many years until he left to take over Tera-Flex Technologies in Wallingford. He retired from Tera-Flex in 2011.


In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Gail McCormack; his sisters, Anne Wallace Barsano (Chuck) of Chicago, IL; Helen Wells Wallace (Tom Barrett) of Wallingford; Patty Wallace Willis (Mark) of Simsbury, CT; and, Carol Wallace Jewczyn (Mike) of Wallingford. Floyd is also survived by his sister-in-law, Catherine Krokus Bonneau; nieces: Carolyn A. Barsano; Carolyn M. Krokus; Marika J. Alibhai (Irfan); nephews: Chris W. Barsano; Kevin C. Barsano (Missy); Scott T. Willis (Erin); Brett McD. Willis; Matt J. Jewczyn (Briana); Christopher M. Krokus; and, Charlie M. Krokus; many cousins and great nephew Thomas Barsano.
