Croghan, Dr. Edward Matthew "Doc" 96, passed away September 10, 2015, following a brief illness. He is survived by his children, Edward (Eileen), Suzanne (Brad) Heger, Mary Lou (Jeff) Farb and Patrick (Kathy), brother Bob Croghan and sister Nancy Prendergast.

Previously passed are children James, William (survived by Rhonda), and Richard.

Husband to Mary Adele (nee Cordeal) Croghan for 50 years until her death in 1999. He was grandfather to 17, great-grandfather to seven, brother to ten siblings, and uncle and friend to many.

Dr. Croghan lived in mid-St. Louis County most of his life. He served as a dentist in the Navy during World War II stationed in the South Pacific. He graduated from St. Louis University in dentistry and was a past president of the Greater St. Louis Dental Society.

A philosopher and golfer, he was a leader in Great Books book clubs for more than 40 years and founder of the Croghan Golf Classic tournaments (including the April Fools' One Club) for 43 years. He was also a past president of Metro St. Louis Senior Golf Association.
