George L. Flangas, 64, died at his home in Kerby, Oregon, Wednesday, March 8, 1995.

Born in McGill, Nevada November 11, 1930. Graduated from Cyprus High School in 1949. Attended Westminster College and the University of Utah.

He was inducted into the Army in 1951. Served in the Korean War in the Sixth Army Area Command as Sergeant in Company B, 224th Combat Infantry. Received the Korean Service Medal, the Bronze Service Star, the United Nations Service Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. He received an honorable discharge September 23, 1953. Married Nola Dee McKee in 1969. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo G. Flangas and Theodora Lekas Flangas.

George is survived by his wife of 26 years, Dee, and their three children: Theodora, Arthur and Troy. He is also survived by his two brothers, Peter L. Flangas, of Las Vegas, and Arthur L. Flangas, of Salt Lake City; his sister, Alice F. Cozakos, of Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 15, 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Green Orthodox Cathedral, 279 So. 300 West. Friends may call at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, Salt Lake City, Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. Prayer service 7:30 p.m. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
