Isaac Babcock was one of 6 children of Zabina Babcock b. 12 Sept 1798 d. 17 June 1854 Farley, Platte Co. MO., who married on 23 Oct 1817 in Cochocton Co. Ohio Lucinda Dusthamer b. 14 Sept 1799 d. 18 Jan 1875 and came to Platte County MO in 1838, settling at the “Narrows” where he formed a partnership with Phinehas Skinner, and kept a store. Zabina Babcock was a large and venerable old gentleman who died in 1854, his estate being administered by his son Richard Babcock.. Zabina's wife Lucinda died in 1875. Both Zabina and his wife are buried in the Old Farley Cemetery, Platte Co. MO. This may also be where Isaac Babcock was laid to rest, since he died not long after his own father. The cemetery, which rests on the hillside overlooking a vast, rich farm valley, has lived through many changes. The stones that were once straight and bright are now leaning and some are broken and defaced by the marks of time.

His father Zabina's headstone reads died July 17, 1851 age 59 years which contradicts above dates which came from the 'Annals of Platte Co MO by Wm Paxton which on page 182 stated July 10 1854. Zabina Babcock having died, Richard Babcock administered. (referring to administration of estate, so perhaps it did come years after his death.)
