Born January 18, 1927 in Rochelle, Illinois to Edward D. and Carolyn G. Treat. Married Merle Lewis in Las Vegas, Nevada. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a paratrooper in A-Company, 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment attached to the 11th Airborne Division, South Pacific Theatre of War. Member of the Masonic Lodge Meridian Sun Lodge 505 in Holcomb, Illinois. A.F. and A.M. member of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry 32 Degree, Grand Junction, Colorado. Member of El Jebel Shrine Temple, Denver, Colorado. Also member El Kalah Shrine Temple, Salt Lake City. Member of the Elks Lodge 808, Salida, Colorado. Member of the D.A.V., Salt Lake City.

Retired from the Rio Grande Railroad after 36 years of service as roadmaster.

Preceded in death by his wife Merle on October 22, 1988. Survived by wife Sadie, Sandy, Utah; son, Terry L. and wife Terri of West Jordan; Larry C. of Kearns; stepdaughter, Sandra Wattenburger and husband Dennis of California; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Britsch and husband Gene of German Valley, Illinois.

Masonic funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 21, at 11 a.m. at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 1st South, where friends may call Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Shriner Hospital for Crippled Children.
