CASSICK – Shirley J., 82, Johnstown, passed away July 11, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 27, 1933, in Johnstown, daughter of Herbert and Mildred Hitchenson Kerschner. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Bruce E. Cassick Sr., who died in 1995; sisters, Mildred and Wilda Mae; brothers, Roland and Herbert; and several grandchildren. Survived by loving sister, Verna; and loving children, Joyce Matula, Bruce E. Cassick Jr., Emil “Butzy” Cassick (Roberta), Debbie Moore (Moose), Ricky Cassick (Wanda), Johnny Cassick (Brenda), Dicie Sims and Frankie Cassick. Also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; also many nieces and nephews. Shirley was the matriarch of her family. She was very devoted to her family and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was know as “Queen B.” Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown. Private interment will be held at a later date at Benshoff Hill Cemetery.
