In August 1960, he entered the military.He started his military career overseas. He was stationed in Panama, Paris, France, Germany, Vietnam, Korea and Stateside. Most of his military career in service was overseas. He was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served his country despite the negative stigma that was attached to the war stateside.
He received numerous awards and accommodations during his military career such as Good Conduct Award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army commendation Medal and Expert Qualification Badge. He ended his military career at Fort Bragg with 20 years of service to his country.
