Julia Anne Sheldon Sims entered rest on Saturday, September 12, 2015. She was born in San Antonio to Julia Burns Sheldon and Joseph Smith Sheldon on January 8, 1925. Anne graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1942. While attending Jefferson, she performed with the Lassos drill team, serving as captain in her senior year. She graduated from the University of Texas, and was a member of Chi Omega sorority.

On August 27, 1949 Anne married Leonard [Len] Henderson Sims, Jr. and became a devoted Army wife. She was a member of the Battle of Flowers Association, St. Monica's Guild, Chi Omega alumni, the Military-Civilian Club, Our Lady of Grace Altar Society, and the Society for the Preservation of Historic Fort Sam Houston. She was long time resident of Monte Vista serving on the Board of its neighborhood association. In addition, she volunteered for Birthright, the Ivy Cottage, and was a docent for the Ursuline History Center at the Southwest School of Art.
