Jonathan Thomas Greene the son of Elijah Greene and Mary Moody Greene. He married Martha Gragg on Dec 28, 1860. He was farming in Globe township when the Civil War broke out and was conscripted into the 58th NC infantry. He was mortally wounded in March of 1863 and died several days later at a field hospital in Greeneville Tn.
