Funeral service for Charles Keith Higginbotham, 62, of Weaver, will be 11 am Monday at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Rev. Ron Sweatt officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Bynum. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 – 11 am at the funeral home. Mr. Higginbotham passed away on Friday. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Higginbotham, two sisters, Karen Higginbotham Wynn (Jimmy) and Darlene Higginbotham Lancaster (Wayne), mother-in-law, Geraldine Crosson, John and Terry Gilmore, four nieces, Angie Boyd, Erika Jones, Katie Winfrey and Kelsey Adcock, nephew, Tyler Adcock. Mr. Higginbotham is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Irene Higginbotham and brother, James Higginbotham. Pallbearers will be John Gilmore, Arlin Holmes, John Reaves, Mike Brown, Randy Bentley, and Andrew Gilmore. Mr. Higginbotham was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retiree from Anniston Army Depot. Mr. Higginbotham was an avid outdoorsman who loved life. Most of all, he was a man devoted to his family and friends. He was of the Baptist Faith. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to an organization supporting a cure for cancer or to a favorite charity.
