Survivors include three sons, Estel Hurst and Glenn Hurst both of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Lavon Hurst of Fairland, Indiana; six daughters, Pauline Hurst of Jonesboro, Waudine Flanigan and Maxine Short, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Geraldine Baker, of Walcott, Barbara Cox of Columbia, Missouri, and Janis Hurst of the home; one brother, Frank Herriott of Pocahontas; 29 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were on October 13, 1987 at 2:00 at the Clover Bend church of Christ with Alva Dunham officiating. Burial was in Clover Bend Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
