Rev. Paul R. Hett, 96, retired United Methodist minister, died at 9:55 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor.

He was born December 13, 1918, in Marion County, Kansas to Conrad and Stella (Dunlap) Hett. He graduated from Marion High School in 1935 and attended Bethel College at North Newton, Kansas and Westmar College at LeMars, Iowa, graduating in 1943. He graduated from the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Napierville, Illinois in 1946 and was ordained in the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Holton, Kansas in 1947.

Rev. Hett served Evangelical United Brethren and United Methodist churches at Hanover and Throop, Jewell and Mankato, Lawrence, Faith in Parsons, Dennis, Otterbein in Chanute, Urbana and Paola. Following retirement from the active ministry in 1983 he served as visitation pastor at Wesley in Parsons and supply pastor at Erie Federated and St. Paul United Methodist Church. Licensed to preach in 1940 by the Evangelical Church, Rev. Paul was one of the longest serving members of the former Kansas Conference.

Paul was also active in a number of civic organizations and served on several church related committees and associations.

He married Catherine Stull on June 4, 1944 at Topeka. She preceded him in death on October 25, 1990. He married Jane Landreth Ellis on April 4, 1992 in Parsons.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Jane; daughters, Susan (Roger) Moller, LeMars, Iowa and Nancy Rehmert, Parsons; grandsons, Todd Moller and Ben Rehmert (Kayla) and great-granddaughter, Khloie Rehmert; step-sons, Jeffrey (Carol Lynne) Ellis, Lake Quivira and Jim Ellis, Parsons; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons with Rev. Margaret Johnson and Rev. Warren Hett officiating. Burial will be at Topeka Cemetery on Wednesday.

Friends are welcome to sign the register at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home until 8 p.m., Wednesday. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the Wesley United Methodist Church. They may be left at or sent to the funeral home at Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
