J.D. Burchfield age 69 of Walland, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at home.

He was a very proud United States Army Veteran that served in the Vietnam War where he survived three truck explosions and received a Purple Heart. J.D. was a fine musician, the world's greatest carpenter, and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Preceded in death by: Parents, William Elmer & Rosalea Burchfield; Brothers, Ralph, Bill, and Jackie; Sisters, Wanda Roy & Sandra Burchfield; Lifelong Best Friend, Dave Price; Special Friend, Ron Pressley; Stepson, Terry Lee.

Survivors include: Love of his life, Rebecca Burchfield; Son & Daughter-in-law, James Roger & Buffy Burchfield; Daughters, Jama Wilson and Tammy Burchfield; Stepson, Randy Price & wife Sherrie; Grandchildren, Eddie Wilson & Fiancée Emily Burleson, Michael Burchfield, Cody & Casey Burchfield, Lucas Ivens, Ryan Covington, Vanessa Webb & Aaron, and Zachary & Kyle Price; Great-Grandchildren, Abby Burchfield, Myla & Mason Webb, and Kyleigh Price; Brother, David Burchfield; Sisters, Linda King and Sara Eads; Special Friends, Bobby & Teresa Halcomb, Jim & Jerry Huskey, Gene & Jerry Murphy, Walter Price, Stanley Pressley, Dewayne Cable & Frame of Mind Construction, members of Southern Backroads Band; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Schrock, University of Tennessee Cancer Specialist and Hospice for all the kindness and support shown during this time.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Monday, September 14, 2015 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Don Fife officiating. Interment will be at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Walden's Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Monday, September 14, 2015 at Smith Trinity Chapel.
