Meta Louise (Fields) Smart passed away at her home in Beloit, on June 3. 2008 at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 22 days. The only daughter of John Washington and his second wife Mary Pauline (Lindemann) Fields, Meta was born on January 12th 1925 in Unionville, Putnam Co., MO where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Unionville High School with the class of 1941. She was united in marriage to Jack Leon Smart on January 28th, 1941 in Unionville, MO. To this union two sons were born.
