Nancy Payne Null, 83, of Mt. Crawford, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Sentara RMH Medical Center. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Claude Edward Null; her two sons, Curtis Edwin, and wife, Susan Null, of McGaheysville and Bradley Edward Null, of Bridgewater; daughter Dayna Null Fairweather of Woodbridge. She was blessed with six grandchildren.
Mrs. Null was born on January 1, 1932 at 12:01 a.m., in Washington D.C., to the late Arthur and Oleta Shiplett Payne. Nancy married Claude in 1954 and followed him during his twenty-six year career in the U.S. Air Force; proudly raising their children in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1978, the family returned home to Mt. Crawford. Mrs. Null joined West Side Baptist Church, where she was a member for thirty-seven years. She devoted her life to her husband, children, and church. Nancy’s hobby was her garden, where she grew wildflowers and roses.
Visitation with friends and family will be held at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg from 6–8 p.m. tonight. Funeral services will be at West Side Baptist Church Saturday, September 12th, at 2 p.m. Internment will follow at Mount Olive Brethren Church in Pineville.
