"Edythe Edie (Ayers) Wilkie age 77 of Boothbay Harbor, ME, formerly of Maynard, MA passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Russell T. Wilkie and life partner of Terry O. Brewer of Boothbay Harbor, ME. Edie was born in Boston on March 13, 1938 to the late Edith V. Ayers. Edith graduated from Wilton High School, married and soon settled in Maynard where she was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Family was the center of her life and she especially enjoyed spending time with her cherished grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo, shopping and frequent visits to Foxwoods. She is survived by her children William Wilkie and his wife Renee and their children Russell, Sierra and Regina of Maynard, Robert Wilkie and son Sean, Chris Wilkie and Richard Wilkie and children Ashley and Kevin all of Maine. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Edie on Friday, September 18 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. Her graveside service will take place Saturday, at 10:00 am in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard. Donations in her memory may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Drive, Suite 206, North Hollywood, CA 91607-3421 Arrangements under the care of Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home, Maynard."
