She was born June 20, 1919 in Hillsboro, the eldest daughter of Frank and Irene Hall Ashmore.
Jane was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
On Feb. 1, 1942, Jane married Hugh M. Turner and he preceded her in death April 26, 1997. Jane and Hugh were loving parents of two sons, Jon (Mary Kesler) Turner and Toby (Jane Newman) Turner.
She is survived by one son, Toby (Jane) Turner of Hillsboro; daughter-in-law, Mary Turner of Hillsboro; one granddaughter, Jenny (Tony) Gulley; two grandsons, Matthew (Vanessa) Turner of Hillsboro and Michael (Carrie) Turner of Lynchburg; six great-grandchildren, Rhonda Turner, Trenton and Allison Gulley, Katy Turner, Cole and Calvin Turner and their mother, Cheryl Turner; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Rylee Hiser; one niece, Cindy (Elgar) Brown of Michigan; and one nephew, Craig (Cheryl) Carrier of Clyde.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jon Michael Turner; and one sister, Fran Carrier.
Private graveside services will be held Friday at the convenience of the family in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pastor Robert D. Hottle will officiate. There is no visitation planned.
