Harlan Eugene "Gene" Achor, 78, of DeMotte, IN, formerly of Hammond, IN, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia; his children: Richard (Elizabeth) Achor, Karen Achor (Keith Hawkins), Sharon (Joe) Hamilton, Frankie (Tom) Schiller; and his step-children: Christine (Russell) Fields, Dan (Beth) Domsich, Georgia (William) Myers; and his brother Ronald (Barbara) Achor. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gene was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He had a larger than life personality and will be missed by all. Gene donated his body to Indiana University for medical research.
