Buried on Wednesday, December 10, 2008Gladys J. Reed, 93, of St. Francisville, MO, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA.

She was born July 28, 1915 in Alexandria, MO, the daughter of Edward and Jessie Huff Rosencrans.

On November 7, 1943 she was united in marriage to Russell F. Reed in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1986.

Gladys and her husband owned and operated the Golden Nugget Tavern in Keokuk, IA for many years. After that they owned and operated the service station and grocery store in St. Francisville, MO. Gladys was a member of the St. Francisville Methodist Church and a member of the Clematis Garden Club. She liked to read and crochet. She also loved to decorate her home and arrange flowers. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Roseann LeMaster and her husband Harold, and Pat Elder and her husband Jim all of St. Francisville, MO, one son, Jim Dennison and his wife Shirley of Ottumwa, IA, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harry Rosencrans, three sisters, Blanche Wilson Mortimer, Velma Davis, LaVeta Rosencrans, one granddaughter and one great grandson.
