Jennifer Smith Elmore, 60, of Powell, Tennessee, departed for her heavenly home on September 9, 2015 following a 14 year battle with cancer. She was born on March 11, 1955 to J.R. and Vinnie Smith, who preceded her in death; as well as sister, Betsy Curbow and father-in-law, Jackie Elmore. She is survived by her soulmate and husband of 30 years, Rickey Elmore; sister, Gail Wallace; brother, Buddy Smith, of Wilmington, North Carolina; mother-in-law, Donna Faye Elmore, of Rocky Top, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Joe Curbow, of Garrison, Texas; sister-in-law, Cathy Goad, of Pioneer, Tennessee; special niece, Kelly Smith of Wilmington, North Carolina; nieces, Laura Knight, Cindy Wallace, and Constance Cox; special cousins, Pauletta Spruill and Barbara Stephson; and special adopted family, the Murphys, the Bledsoes, and Bobby Hagwood families. A special thank you to the Amedisys Hospice. A celebration of life will be held at First Lutheran Church, 1207 N. Broadway, Knoxville, Tennessee, 37917 on Sunday, September 13th at 4 pm, with Rev. Paul Bushur officiating. The family will receive friends prior from 3-4. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to Amedisys Hospice or your favorite charity.
