John Henry Bartels, born March 5, 1927 to John E. & Emma Bartels, was called to his heavenly home on September 5, 2015.

He was a member of the United States Army, where he served proudly in Washington D.C. as a guard for the Unknown Soldier's Tomb.

John was the owner and operator of Bartels Appliance Service, from which he retired. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Raytown, MO for 55 years.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy, of which he was married to for 59 1/2 years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Todd Fedo; and his grandsons, Patrick and Austin, for whom his love had no bounds. And to his friends and family, he counted you all as his blessings.

There will be a private graveside service on Sept. 19. 2012.
