SEATTLE—Samuel Ashby, 73, native of Ogden, died Saturday in Seattle of a heart attack.

Mr. Ashby was born March 6, 1880, in Ogden, a son of Thomas and Rachel Ashby. He moved to Salt Lake City, retiring in 1949 when he moved to Seattle. He married Carrie Dunyon. She died 17 years ago.

Surviving are one son: Donald Ashby, Seattle, and one grandchild. The body will be brought to Salt Lake City for funeral services and burial.
