Or, he could be a son of Phineas Barber & Ann Kennedy. I've exhausted research on various lines & have concluded he comes from David Barber or Phineas Barber, both of whom lived in Northumberland County but are unrelated.
Married Mary Jones, daughter of William Jones of Point Twp, about 1827.
Known children born to them were:
William (born bet. 1826 & 1830, my 3x great grandfather)
Jane (born 1828, m. William Falls by 1848/9)
Anthony (born 1833, per tombstone)
Margaret (born 1834, m. Robert Seilor)
Isaac (born 1835, per tombstone)
Catharine (born 1844)
George (born 1845, per tombstone)
Sometimes William is shown to have been born around 1826, other times about 1830/3, so I estimated his birth between the two years.
His occupation isnt known, but in 1850, he was labeled a laborer. In 1860, he didnt have one & his personal estate was only priced at around $150. He may have done work similar to that which he was apprenticed to Anthony Armstrong to do.
Church affiliation isnt known either, but he may have been Presbyterian, Episcopal or some form of Methodist.
