Ray McBride Husband, father, friend, Air Force Captain, electrical engineer, researcher, pilot, skeet official, Ray McBride, age 73 lived a full life. He passed away 16 August 2015, from lengthy battle with cancer. Ray was born 17 November 1942. Captain McBride will be honored with a memorial service at Ft. Sam Houston National Military Cemetery on 18 September 2015, at 1000 a.m. Ray is survived by his wife of 31 years, Helen McBride and her daughter, Teri Marsh, three daughters, Jenni McBride, Becky Wolfe and Debbie Mueler, and a sister, Evie Griffin. Ray is also survived by many relatives, close friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ray served a full career in the Air Force, stateside and throughout Europe, working on military intelligence. After his military career, he continued his work as an electrical engineer for Lockheed-Martin's missile defense development. Ray graduated from the University of Missouri in 1968, with BS and MS degrees in electrical engineer. His pastimes included piloting, skeet shooting, and officiating skeet matches throughout Texas and the United States. He loved his dogs and considered them constant companions. Ray also became an avid but unsuccessful Texas coast fisherman. Meadowlawn Funeral Home of San Antonio is handling the funeral arrangements. Reverend Don Wilkinson of St. Thomas Episcopal Church will officiate at the memorial service on 18 September at Ft. Sam.
