Thomas was the son of Elizabeth Eleanor (Schwartz) and William Harvell Meredith. He was born and schooled in Oakland and was a graduate of Oakland High School. He was for 2 years a skipper on a deep sea fishing boat. This was followed by a stint as a route man for a linen supply company. Finally he worked as a Master Captain for some 65 years.
Thomas passed away at the age of 85 with his loving family at his side. He is survived by his daughter Sherry Wray and her husband Bill along with 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, 1 niece and 2 nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis Gertrude (Donaldson) Meredith in 2009. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at 2:00 pm at Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward. A celebration of his life will take place on September 14th.
