LEIGHTON -- Charles Ray Bolton, age 79, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2015. His family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, noon-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Phillip Potter officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bolton was retired from Sheffield Utilities, served in the U.S. Army, and was a member and deacon of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the Colbert County Board of Education for 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and BeEtta Hester Bolton, and his brother, Douglas Bolton.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Bolton; daughter, Jennifer Rai Verdun and husband, Todd, of Washington, Pennsylvania; sisters, Marie Gattman, of Sheffield, Ima Jean Hutchins, of Muscle Shoals, Lucile Hester and husband, Denton, of Tuscumbia, and Nancy Borden, of Birmingham; and grandchildren, Luke Verdun and Gemma Vernun.

Pallbearers are Greg Borden, David Gattman, Doug Gattman, Larry Hester, Randy Hester, Chris Hutchins, Scott Hutchins, and Justin Lanfair.

Honorary pallbearers are Dwain Clement, Jerome Staggs, Phillip Palmer, O'Neal Hicks, and Patrick Walker.
