Born in Amsterdam on May 18, 1949, he was the son of the late William B. and Georgianna Gardner Wolff Sr.
Billy received his education in the Amsterdam school system and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He also received an associate's degree from Fulton-Montgomery Community College and attended Arizona State University.
Billy was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran serving from 1967 to 1969. After being seriously wounded during active duty, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal. He was the proud recipient of three Purple Hearts, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Expert Rifle Badge M-14 Rifle.
Billy was a past member of the John J. Wyszomirski American Legion Post 701 in Amsterdam and Robert Lee Walsh Post 337 in Broadalbin, NY.
Billy is survived by three sisters, Linda Bobar (Gerald) of Galway, NY, Carol Ann Wolff of Amsterdam, NY and Kathleen Porath (Walt) of Amsterdam and Destin, FL; one niece, three nephews, several cousins and many special and good friends.
A committal service with full military honors will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
