After suffering for eighteen months with cancer, Emil F Ebeling, 60, Terry business man, passed away quietly at his home early Monday morning. He submitted to an operation at the Holy Rosary hospital in Miles city in September 1942, and returned to his home in Terry after three months' confinement, but never completely recovered his health.
Mr Ebeling was born March 9, 1886, at Perham MN, son of Chris and Sophia Ebeling. He spent his boyhood and attended parochial schools at Perham. On August 21, 1909 he was married to Martha H Brown, at Gardena ND. After a few years' residence in ND, they moved to a homestead near Paris, northwest of Terry, in 1912, where they lived for seven years.
In 1919, he purchased the Terry Barber shop, and the family moved to Terry where they have since resided, and Mr Ebeling conducted his trade as a barber until he became ill.
To Mr and Mrs Ebeling were born five children: Lloyd E, US Army, located at Presque Isle Maine; Mrs Robert Wilson of Billings; Mrs Paul Dobbin of Medora ND; Leverne of Valley City ND; and Le Roy Jenneth, who died in 1939. The widow and four children survive.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran church of Terry, of which he was a member and elder. Interment was made in the Terry Cemetery. Paullbearers were R V Norris, S J Alexander, W A Brubaker, W J Faus, J W Greenwood, and Ray L Kampf.
