Kathryn Eudora Hamlin was born September 26, 1903 in Staples MN and came to Terry MT at age 6 months. Her parents were Robert and Ella Campbell Hamlin, early settlers in Prairie County. She considered her ancestry to be of Scotch-Irish, English, and Swiss-Dutch extraction. Kathryn attended school in Terry and graduated from Terry High School in 1922. After attending Dillon Normal School, she taught school one year at the Wheatland School south of Terry.
On September 29, 1923 Kathryn E Hamlin married Harold B Larsen in Forsyth MT. To this union were born four children. The couple later divorced.
On August 25, 1940, she married Ralph V Norris, Sr. Kathryn and Ralph Norris were know in the community for their keen interest in gardening, politics and their grandchildren. Mr Norris passed away November 5, 1968.
Mrs Norris was a member of the Presbyterian Community Church; Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, member of the Royal Neighbors, Legion Auxiliary and Zero Home Demonstration Club.
Mrs Norris passed away February 28, 1997 after a long and full life that spanned most of the Twentieth Century. She died at age 93 in the Prairie Community Nursing Home, where she had lived in recent years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters Eunice Hamlin, Sylvia Hamlin Pomeroy, and Roberta Hamlin Freiboth; and one grandchild Robin L Larsen.
Survivors include her children, Robert H, Diane (Edwin) Falkenstern, Gary H (Carol) and Kay (Al) Gossett; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
