Charles Richard Crabtree, age 87, of, Asheboro died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mr. Crabtree was born February 28, 1928, the son of Charley A. and Johnie Cooper Crabtree. In addition to his parents Charles was preceded in death by his wife, of 54 years, Maizie S. Crabtree, and brother, Joseph C. Crabtree.

Mr. Crabtree was a native of Blountsville, Alabama and owner of Knitmaster. He enjoyed working as an Electronics Engineer and inventor. Charles was a strong willed man and a great provider. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII.

He is survived by his daughters: Rebecca Lynn Carriker and her husband, Jeff of Asheboro, NC, Carla Taylor of Greensboro; grandchildren: Frank Batten and his wife, Bonnie Batten of Randleman, Eric Cook of Greensboro, Clarke Carriker of Asheboro; great grandchildren: Alexandra Batten and Andrew Batten.
