Lansdale Boardman, 87, of Kimball Farms Retirement Community, 235 Walker St., died Sunday at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center.

Born in Lloyd Harbor, N.Y., on Sept. 6, 1918, son of Bradford and Clarinda (Boardman) Boardman, he was a 1936 graduate of Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Conn.

He received his bachelor of arts degree in English history from Yale University in 1940 and earned his master's in business administration from New York University.

A certified public accountant, Mr. Boardman was employed by Price Waterhouse Coopers in New York City for many years, retiring in 1980.

He was a resident of Scarsdale, N.Y., for many years and moved to Lenox in July 2003.

He was a member of First Congregational Church of Stockbridge and served as an elder for many years at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale.

He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the National Association of Cost Accountants, the American Institute of CPAs and the Financial Executive Institute, and was secretary/treasurer of the Westchester Affiliate of the Foundation for Fighting Blindness from 1987 to 1993.

He enjoyed photography, singing in choirs and playing the organ.

He and his wife, the former Louise Sacra, were married March 2, 1957, in Hartford, Conn.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, James Emmett Boardman of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; a daughter, Nan Starbuck Amstutz of Upper Jay, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Boardman is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Kent and Lauren Boardman and Annika Amstutz; his daughter-in-law, Catherine, and son-in-law, Stephen.
