American Pollster. Kohut was a leading pollster for more than three decades and the founding director of the major political "think tank" Pew Research Center. A graduate of both Seton Hall and Rutgers Universities, he became president of the Gallup Organization in 1979 and served until 1989, after which he founded Princeton Survey Research Associates. In 1993 Kohut started the Pew Research Center, ""a fact tank" that runs independent surveys of U.S. public opinion on politics, public policy and the press". He remained there as a director until 2012. Kohut wrote many newspaper articles and authored four books, with the most current being "America Against The World". He was regular guest on many political oriented shows on television and radio and received many awards in the public opinion area.
