Violet Mae Simm, 80, of Paullina went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 10, 2007, at her home.

Memorial services were held at the First Presbyterain church in Paullina Arrangements were under the direction of Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home in Sioux City.

Violet was born on December 23, 1926 in Nobles County, Minnesota. Her childhood was spent in Murray County on a farm near Iona, Minnesota. She attended country school for the first eigh years, and then graduated from Slayton High School in 1944.

Violet met William Simm while working at the Famers Elevator in Paullina, and they married on October 8, 1946. he couple farmed north of Paullina until their retirement in 1987, when they moved into their present home in Paullina. Violet became an LPN in 1973, and was a nurse at Paullina Nursing Home and at Baum Harmon Hospital.

Violet is remembered for her fatih in Jesus Christ as Savior. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Paullina, and belonged to Mariam Circle, P.E.O. Sisterhood, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed quilting, palying bridge, baking, and spending time with her family and many friends. She demonstrated the importance of caring and supporting family and friends in good times as well as during life's struggles.

Survivors include her husband of sixty years, William; six children, William Kendall of Huntington Beach, California, Kent (Connie) of Willits, California, Bruce (Pam) of Paullina, Joyce (Douglas) McIntosh of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Beth (Brian) Massman of Paullina, and Laura (Don) Palmer of Crystal, Minnesota; sixteen grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a brother.
